Volunteering
For 60 years, Community Association volunteers have been helping to nurture this neighbourhood in a thousand different ways. These are some of the areas in which volunteers are working right now, and every time we get a new, enthusiastic volunteer, we can do just that much more! Please consider joining us.
Board of Directors aka ‘the Executive’
Elected in March for one-year term to manage the Association’s property and business on behalf of the members. The Executive meets monthly. Directors generally participate in the Association general meetings as well (monthly except July and August) and may take on other volunteer tasks.
Library
Operate the library located in the community hall. Time commitment is one meeting/month and 1 or 2 two-hour shifts with flexibility to accommodate vacations, etc. No prior library experience needed.
Jack-of-all-Trades (or of some)
Keep the three buildings and grounds safe and in good repair, on an ad-hoc basis.
Gardening
Beautify the immediate surroundings of the Community Hall.
Meeting Hospitality
Provide coffee, tea and ‘cookies’ during the break at Association meetings. Time commitment is 2-3 hours/meeting, 10 meetings/year (2nd Wednesdays except July and August).
Events
Organize and put on Association-sponsored events such as potlucks and community picnics.
Meeting Programs
Arrange speakers or programs for 9 general meetings/year (March program is the Annual General Meeting; there are no meetings in July and August).
